  Contract Senior Teradata DBA

  I helped build the Enterprise Data Warehouse using Informatica for the ETL and Teradata (V12) for the EDW.  I was a Sr. DBA team member,  performing all DBA functions as well        as automating DBA functions using UNIX Shell Scripting (ksh) and Teradata SQL.

 Major telecommunications company 

  Contract Systems Administrator and Developer

 I managed the POSR (Point of Sale and Retention), system and developed software for it. It was  written in COBOL/DB2 and Teradata V12.   Business Objects was  utilized in the reporting part of the system and web access was through Cold Fusion. I  managed a Pune, India offshore group that  ran production and developed software.

 Contract Teradata DBA

 I was a  DBA with Electronic Data Warehouse Teradata DBA Group in a V2R5 Teradata environment providing user and on call support for assigned  databases. I  designed  and tuned database tables, optimized user SQL queries, including use of Partition Primary Index (PPI) and analyzed EXPLAIN  plans to optimize data retrieval and  eliminate Spool problems. I provided performance troubleshooting of data problems and developed BTEQ and  Mload/Fastload applications to conserve Table Space.  I  archived data, loaded new tables, and restored history. I compressed tables to minimize space  usage. All of this was completed in an MVS environment using the Express SEI-Level 3.  I  mentored other analysts and DBAs. 

 Contract Senior Programmer/Analyst

 I was an OPS Migration Team member that migrated the Service Assurance Teradata Database data source, changing the LMOS data source (Vendor  Supplied) to WFA  (Internal SBC system).  Enhanced and developed V2R5 Teradata tables, views, Bteqs, Mloads, and Fastloads.  I worked in a 320 Node environment under MVS, modified programs, JCL, and Procs ;  I mentored other Analysts.

 Contract Senior Project Manager and Programmer/Analyst

 I was a Project manager, technical leader and developer for the WPM system (Teradata using all aspects of Teradata and Nomad2)  with a GQL- BIQUERY  GUI,  running  under  MVS.  WPM, used world-wide and required 24x7 on call support, provided operational and financial information about container  movement.   I  participated  throughout all aspects of the system development lifecycle (SDLC).

I provided:

  *   New interface to Equipment Velocity Application (EVA) Oracle application.

  *  New direct costing subsystem of equipment move legs with integration into WPM at the container move level.

  *  EDI analytical subsystem which created a statistical information file (contained information on the EDI data quality coming from the railroads to 

     APL.

  * Created files to load Teradata tables with EDI transaction type data.  Created a BIQUERY model for users to query the tables.

  * New GQL software (query front-end) for the new Eagle+ billing system (Oracle). Provided project leadership and analytical support.

 I enhanced and maintained the Lube Oil Information System (LOIS-Nomad/DB2 based windows reporting system). I created system enhancements, improved  performance by a factor of 10. I tuned Nomad programs and DB2 views and resolved production problems, included changes to PLX  programs and JCL. I enhanced  Business Development Program (BDP) System which determined Jobbers incentive payments.
